WASHINGTON – On behalf of the Ward One Democrats, its executive committee issued the following statement today after President Trump threatened genocide in Iran, posting on social media “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again”:
“Ward One Democrats stands united against all threats of genocide. We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran and with all oppressed people.
“If we had voting representation in Congress, we would urge Ward 1 residents to contact their Members of Congress and demand Trump's immediate impeachment. Since we don't, we demand DC statehood now, because until we have it, our voices will never fully count.”
