RESOLUTION
Prioritizing Ward 1 Voter Outreach Ahead of the June 16, 2026 Election
WHEREAS, the June 16, 2026 election requires immediate and sustained voter education and engagement in all precincts of the ward;
RESOLVED, That the June election is our top organizational priority, and the Ward One Democratic Committee calls on all officers, precinct representatives, and other members to participate in general voter education and engagement activities and support for our endorsed candidates for the duration of the election period, in all precincts of the ward;
RESOLVED, That general voter education and engagement activities shall include promoting the Ward One Democrats voter guide, providing public education of key election dates and methods and requirements of registration and voting, and collaborating with and promoting the related efforts of allied organizations, in all precincts of the ward;
RESOLVED, That support for our endorsed candidates shall include communicating with members and voters in support of endorsed candidates, volunteering directly for endorsed campaigns, and providing opportunities for endorsed candidates to engage with members, in all precincts of the ward;
RESOLVED, That the Ward One Democrats shall make no contributions, in cash or in kind, to any endorsed candidate’s principal campaign committee or any political committee affiliated with an endorsed candidate during the 2026 election cycle without the prior authorization of the Executive Committee;
RESOLVED, That any member of the Ward One Democrats who serves as a candidate, paid staff member, senior volunteer, or strategic advisor to an endorsed campaign shall recuse themselves from all Ward One Democrats deliberations and decisions relating to that race for the duration of the 2026 cycle; and
RESOLVED, That nothing in this resolution authorizes any activity prohibited by District of Columbia campaign finance law, District of Columbia Democratic Party rules, the Bylaws or rules of the Ward One Democrats, or any other applicable law or rule.
