Notice is hereby given that the 2026 Annual Convention of the Ward One Democrats will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

REGISTRATION
You may register to attend the Convention by clicking here. All members of the Ward One Democrats are encouraged to attend. Under the Bylaws, membership in this organization shall be open to anyone who is a registered Democrat in Ward 1.
PURPOSE
The Ward 1 Democratic Committee has proposed the following business for the Convention:
Annual Financial Report
Annual Report of the Ward 1 Democratic Committee
Annual Reports of the Standing Committees
Election of officers of the Ward One Democrats
Elections to fill nine precinct representative vacancies
Election by precinct representatives to fill one vacancy among the Executive Committee precinct representatives
Presentation by the D.C. Board of Elections on ranked-choice voting
Presentations in support of candidates endorsed by the Ward One Democrats
New business properly brought before the Convention
An earlier notice of a proposed bylaws amendment relating to officer terms was withdrawn. As a result, no bylaws amendments will be considered at this Convention.
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 1(a) of the Bylaws, the Convention has been called for the alternate date authorized by the Bylaws because of a scheduling conflict with the regular Convention date.

Officer Elections
The Convention will elect the officers of the Ward One Democrats for the 2026-2028 term. The offices to be elected are:

Advance nominations are closed. Floor nominations will also be in order at the Convention.

Precinct Representative Special Caucus Elections
Special precinct caucus elections will be held to fill nine precinct representative vacancies:
Precinct 20, LeDroit Park: 1 vacancy
Precinct 25, West Adams Morgan: 4 vacancies
Precinct 36, Columbia Heights: 1 vacancy
Precinct 38, South Park View: 1 vacancy
Precinct 42, Northeast Columbia Heights: 1 vacancy
Precinct 43, Park View North: 1 vacancy
Each special precinct caucus election will be conducted by ballot under the supervision of the Elections Committee. Only registered Democrats residing in the affected precinct may vote in that precinct’s special caucus election. Click here to view the precinct map or click here to find your precinct. Advance nominations will be accepted until Friday, May 8, 2026, one day before the Convention. Floor nominations will also be in order at the Convention. Advanced nominations for precinct representatives closed at midnight before the Convention. Any new nominations must be made from the floor. Further details are available at Ward1Dems.org/CaucusHQ.
