An endorsement of this organization requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those registered Ward One Democrats present and voting at the endorsement meeting
Endorsement decisions shall be made separately for each office
All voting shall be by secret ballot:
Multiple offices may be listed on a single ballot
For each office, the vote shall use a ballot consistent with the method of election for that office
For each office, candidates are listed in the order of questionnaire submission
For each office, an option to vote against endorsement is listed last
No endorsement vote shall be taken on a slate or other grouping of candidates defined outside of the endorsement meeting
The polls may be opened by the presiding officer after any needed explanation or demonstrations of rules and voting methods, but before debate has concluded
Time for speeches in support of candidates will be allotted equally between the eligible candidates.
For ranked-choice elections, endorsement will be for a single candidate who is preferred by two-thirds over the next-most-preferred candidate, and who is considered worthy of endorsement by at least two-thirds of those voting.
Please review the full special rules of order for endorsement meetings for further details. All other rules are pursuant to the parliamentary authority.
