Dante Atkins serves as Corresponding Secretary of the Ward One Democrats. After growing up in Southern California and serving in a variety of positions in the Los Angeles County Democratic Party and the California Democratic Party, he came to D.C. in 2014 to close the distance in a long-distance relationship. Dante worked as Press Secretary and Communications Director for California Congressman John Garamendi from 2015 through 2019, and has since been the principal at Atkins Strategies, a boutique qualitative research firm that serves Democratic and allied campaigns, as well as the private sector.

Dante is married with two children, both DC natives, and also has two rescue tuxedo cats. He currently lives in Columbia Heights.
